Update From DVBA

4 Feb 2021 by Victoria Irwin

Good afternoon Clubs,

There have been changes to the current CovidSafe Restrictions and Basketball Victoria has provided clarification on the changes that will be in place.
Following the overnight update from the Victorian Government regarding the mandatory wearing of face masks while indoors, Basketball Victoria has made the following updates to our Return to Sport Guidelines.
Please visit the Victorian Government Coronavirus website for further information on current restrictions.
As of 11.59pm on 3 February 2021, face masks are mandatory statewide in indoor public spaces.

Approved face coverings must be worn by all patrons over the age of 12 years, while inside the venue, except for players or officials participating.

Coaches or other people in non-exertive roles must wear a face mask at all times unless a lawful exemption applies.

Face masks must be worn in indoor public spaces apart from when eating or drinking. You must always carry a face mask with you when you leave home unless you have a lawful reason not to.

Basketball Victoria’s Return to Sport status remains at COVID-Safe (formerly Green-100).
Please review the updated Return to Sport Guidelines (Version 8 / 4 February) for further information.

Kind regards,

Matthew Stewart
Competitions Manager
